Enhanced Inspections to Prevent Yellow Fever spreading into China
The Chinese Quarantine Authorities have issued an announcement seeking to prevent the spread of yellow fever into China. From 19th January 2018, all vessels arriving from Nigeria, Peru and Brazil (except Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe) will be required to carry out effective disinfection. The requirements of local CIQ among different Chinese ports may vary. Further details can be found in the circular from Huatai
Assureds should pay attention when chartering vessels sailing from ports within the above affected areas and check with the local agent about detailed information and local CIQ’s requirements before calling at Chinese ports.
